DESCRIPTION of CENSUS DISTRICTS and of COLLECTORS' SUB-DISTRICTS—continued.
No. 18.—ST. LAWRENCE DISTRICT.
Commencing at the mouth of the Fitzroy River, and bounded thence by that river upwards to the junction of Gogango Creek, then by a line bearing north-west ; then by the watershed separating the Mackenzie River and Isaac River from the Lower Fitzroy River and waters flowing in to Broad Sound northerly to Long Hill ; then by a line bearing north-east to Cape Palmerston ; and thence by the sea-coast south-easterly to the point of commencement,—exclusively of the Census District of Rockhampton.
Sub-District No.1.—Commencing at the junction of Alligator Creek with the Fitzroy River, and bounded thence on the west by Alligator Creek upwards to its junction with Canal Creek ; then by Canal Creek upwards to its head ; then by a line northerly to the head of Raspberry Creek and by Raspberry Creek downwards to the coast ; thence on the north-west by the sea-coast to the mouth of the Fitzroy River ; and then by the Fitzroy River upwards to its junction with Alligator Creek, the point of commencement,—excluding portion of Rockhampton Census District.
Sub-District No.2.—Commencing at the junction of Sandy Creek with the Fitzroy River, and bounded thence on the south by that river downwards to its junction with Alligator Creek ; thence on the east by Alligator Creek upwards to its junction with Canal Creek ; then by that creek to its head ; then by a line northerly to Raspberry Creek, and by Raspberry Creek to the sea-coast ; then by coast line to Herbert's Creek ; then on the west by that creek upwards to its junction with Paddock Creek ; then by a line bearing south to the head of Sandy Creek ; and by that creek downwards to its junction with the Fitzroy River, the point of commencement.
Sub-District No. 3.—Commencing on the sea-coast and bounded thence on the north-west by a line bearing west to Mount Wellington, then by a spur range to the northern watershed of Marlborough Creek ; thence by the watershed separating the Upper Fitzroy River from the Lower Fitzroy and by a line bearing south-east to the junction of Gogango Creek with the Fitzroy ; thence by the Fitzroy downwards to the junction of Sandy Creek ; thence by Sandy Creek upwards to its head ; thence by a line bearing north to Herbert's Creek at its junction with Paddock Creek ; thence by Herbert's Creek downwards to the sea-coast ; and thence by the sea-coast to the point of commencement.
Sub-District No. 4.—Commencing on the shores of Broadsound at the mouth of Waverly Creek, and bounded on the north-west by that creek upwards to the telegraph line ; thence by the telegraph line to Amity Creek ; thence by that creek to its head ; thence by the watershed of creeks falling into Broadsound, and also by the watershed separating the Mackenzie and Isaacs Rivers from the Lower Fitzroy ; thence north-easterly by the northern watershed of Marlborough Creek to its northernmost head ; thence by a spur range to Mount Wellington ; thence due east to the sea-coast, and by the coast line northerly to point of commencement.
Sub-District No.5.—Commencing on the east coast at the mouth of Waverley Creek, and bounded thence on the south-east by that creek upwards to the telegraph line ; then on the east by the telegraph line southerly to Amity Creek ; then by that creek to its head ; thence on the west by the range separating the Connor's River from waters flowing direct to the east coast northerly to Long Hill ; then by a line bearing north-east to Cape Palmerston ; and thence by the sea-coast south-easterly to the point of commencement.
No. 19.—PEAK DOWNS DISTRICT.
Commencing at the junction of Theresa Creek and the Nogoa River, and bounded thence by Theresa Creek upwards to Sandy Creek, and by that creek to its head ; then by a line bearing magnetic east to Fletcher's Awl ; then by the northern and eastern watershed of the Isaacs River, by the watershed separating the Upper Fitzroy River from the Lower Fitzroy River and a line bearing south-east to the junction of Gogango Creek ; and thence by the Fitzroy River and the Mackenzie River upwards to the point of commencement.
Sub-District No.1.—Commencing at the junction of the Comet River with the Mackenzie River, and by that river upwards to the junction of Theresa Creek and the Nogoa River ; thence by Theresa Creek upwards to the junction of Sandy Creek, and by that creek upwards to the junction of Wolffang Creek ; and bounded thence by a line bearing north-west to a point bearing west from Fletcher's Awl ; thence by a line bearing east to Fletcher's Awl ; then by Peak Range south-easterly and by eastern watershed of Crinum Creek southerly and a line bearing south to the point of commencement.
Sub-District No.2.—Commencing at the junction of the Isaacs and McKenzie, and thence by the McKenzie and Fitzroy Rivers downwards to the junction of Gogango Creek ; thence by a line bearing north-west and by the watershed separating the Upper Fitzroy River from the Lower Fitzroy River northerly ; and by a line bearing south-west to the point of commencement.
Sub-District No.3.—Commencing at the junction of the Isaacs and McKenzie Rivers, and bounded thence by a line bearing north-easterly to the range separating the Upper Fitzroy River from the Lower Fitzroy River ; thence by that range northerly to a road ; thence by a road to McGusty's Gap by McKenzie's Station towards Malvern Station ; thence by Peak Range south-easterly ; and by the eastern watershed of Crinum Creek southerly to the junction of Comet and McKenzie Rivers ; thence by the McKenzie River downwards to the point of commencement.
Sub-District No.4.—Commencing at Fletcher's Awl, and bounded thence by the western and northern watershed of Isaacs River to the watershed separating the Isaacs River from Funnell Creek ; thence by that watershed southerly and south-easterly to the road from McGusty's Gap to Malvern Station ; thence by that road south-easterly to Peak Range ; and thence by that range northerly to the point of commencement.
Sub-District No.5.—Commencing on the eastern watershed of Funnell Creek where a road crosses it, and bounded thence by that road by McGusty's Gap to the western watershed of Funnell Creek ; thence by that watershed north-westerly to the northern watershed of Funnell Creek to Broadsound Ranges ; thence by those ranges southerly to the point of commencement.
No. 20.—KENNEDY SOUTH DISTRICT.
Commencing at the junction of the Bogie River and Burdekin, and bounded thence by the watershed separating the Burdekin, Bowen, Suttor, and Belyando Rivers from the Bogie, O'Connell, Pioneer, Isaacs, and Mackenzie Rivers southerly to Fletcher's Awl ; then by said watershed
