His Excellency the GOVERNOR has been pleased to direct that the following Abstracts of the Census taken on the 2nd March, 1846, under the Act of Council 9 Vict. No. 21, be published for general information.

His Excellency further directs it to be intimated, that an Educational Return, in a more detailed form than that now given, is in course of preparation, and will be published when complete.
